Two people looking into the camera after picking up results

Harrow College students are celebrating some impressive GCSE, BTEC and Level 2 results across a range of subjects after results were released on Thursday 24 August.  These compliment the high Level 3 results already received.

Highlights include a number of students from a range of backgrounds achieving outstanding Grade 9’s, the highest grade in the grading system. Overall, this year’s GCSE results are in line with the national picture with grades largely remaining above pre-pandemic (2019) levels.

Jo Withers, Principal of Harrow College, said:
Congratulations to our students who have worked really hard to secure these excellent grades. Achieving these qualifications not only provides confidence, but also opportunities to progress onto further and higher education or into permanent jobs.

It’s lovely to see how many students have appreciated the support our staff provide to help them achieve their future career goals.”

Student success stories included:

  • Adiele Amarachi achieved an outstanding Grade 9 in Chemistry, and strong grades in Biology, Maths, Physics and English having studied on the College’s GCSE Science package and she is now progressing onto the A-Level Science package.  Adiele found the teaching support at Harrow College to be immaculate as they were all supportive and said the best thing about the College, as well as the support, was how friendly everyone is.
  • Fabrice Awuah achieved high grades in the GCSE Science package alongside impressive results in Maths and English. His next step is to progress onto Harrow College’s  A-Level Science package. Fabrice found the College to be a friendly community and had a great experience. He also recommends the College for science programmes as the teachers are very supportive.

  • Lina Limbu achieved an Access to Nursing qualification along with GCSEs in English and Maths and was really happy with her great results. She is now heading to university to study further to prepare for her future nursing career. She said she had an amazing experience with her return to education with the support and guidance of amazing teachers and great facilities.

For students receiving their results who don’t necessarily have the grades needed to start the course they want, there are lots of courses, apprenticeship and progression opportunities available across Harrow, Uxbridge, and Richmond Colleges.

Dylan McTaggart, HRUC Deputy CEO and Group Principal said: “All our students and staff have worked incredibly hard and we’re proud of these results. I would like to congratulate our GCSE, BTEC and Level 2 students and encourage them to now take this opportunity to think about what’s the best next step for them. We recognise that this can be an uncertain time, and that’s why across our family of colleges we are here, ready to provide trusted advice and support their career aspirations and individual ambitions.”

Access to Higher Education courses are one-year programmes designed for people returning to education, preparing them with the skills and knowledge to progress to higher level qualifications at college or university.

Harrow College is part of HRUC, a merger between Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges.
