Harrow College is proud to deliver its Football Academy for 16-18 year olds with Wealdstone FC Academy.
We provide talented young sports people with the opportunity to develop their prospects of a career in football while continuing with their education.
Qualified coaches will lead coaching sessions and prepare students for their weekly matches against other academy sides throughout the season.
The programme will provide the most up to date, comprehensive and high quality training for 16-18 year old boys and girls wishing to break into the football industry. Study and qualifications gained can also lead to opportunities in the following fields:
- Professional sports person
- Coaching
- Sports Therapy
- Fitness Industry
- Leisure Management
- Teaching
- Higher Education
- Overseas Scholarships.
Our Football Academy provides you with a programme of football training while you work on a full-time course of academic study. You will also participate in games in the British Colleges Sport League, ECFA London.
Courses - we are enrolling for Septemebr 2024 start dates
BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport - this course is for those with a minimum of 4 GCSEs in relevant subjects or able to demonstrate other related qualifications and experience.
OCR Level 2 Cambridge Technical Diploma in Sport - Football Academy - this course is for students with a proven playing ability, selected at trials, who seek a first class education. Students should have 4 GCSE at grade 4/5 including maths and English to be able to enrol.
BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Sport this course is for students with a proven playing ability, selected at trials, who seek a first class education and hold 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 including maths and English or a Level 2 qualification at merit or above.
BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Sport, Fitness and Personal Training - this course is aimed at students aged 16-18 that have a passion for sport, fitness and physical activity. This is the first year of a two year course that establishes and develops industry relevant skills for those seeking employment within the fitness industry.
