Five Harrow College students who embarked on an employability academy run by Apprentice Winner Lee McQueen have been rewarded for their hard work and dedication with a paid internship.

The five students have just completed a six month, extra-curricular employability academy run by Raw Talent in partnership with Harrow College. The academy saw students complete the 8-stage course covering topics including; Business planning, self-motivation, communication and relationships building. The group also benefited from gaining an insight into commercial business workings, which included a visit to Capita’s London Office. The successful students (pictured left to right with Lee McQueen far right) are: Venelina Urlachka (19), Valeria Bedoya Garcia (16), Rebeca Costa (19), Paula Nabulya (17) and Zachariah Soliman (17).

Earlier in the college year hundreds of students applied and were interviewed to secure a place on the course, all receiving detailed feedback from Raw Talent’s expert recruiters.

Raw Talent Academy founder Lee McQueen, who worked for Lord Sugar for two years after winning the Apprentice said; “I am so passionate about the work Raw Talent does with Harrow College and it’s students because it means we are giving students a head start in their future careers. To be able to create such a great partnership with the College proves how committed they are to their students. This year again saw exceptional talent from the students throughout our whole process and I’m looking forward to see them again completing their internships”.

Lee Janaway, Head of Learner Services, Experience & Employability at Harrow College added; “These students have all developed new skills and attributes for future employment during their time on the academy programme and I am certain that they will use this to be successful in the future.”

The final task for group was to do a presentation in from of Lee McQueen and Lee Janaway describing their Raw Talent experience and what they have learnt from the process. The paid internships will be with Lee McQueen’s Raw Talent Academy as well as Capita who hosted the group during part of the academy process.
