Health and Social Care students from Harrow College have attended a talk given by Watford Mencap.
The Level 3 and 5 students attended the talk at the college’s Harrow Weald campus on Wednesday 22 April 2015.
Watford Mencap spoke to students about various career paths they could take in relations to people with learning difficulties and disabilities.
Watford Mencap also discussed volunteer opportunities within the organisation.
Students were also given the opportunity to sign up as bank workers while they study. The role would give students the opportunity to work with families or individuals with learning disabilities who need support with activities such as shopping and paying bills.
Errol Allen, health and wellbeing curriculum manager at Harrow College, said: "People with learning difficulties and disabilities can sometimes find it difficult to manage everyday activities on their own. We are delighted that Watford Mencap has shown our Health and Social Care students how they can assist people with disabilities, while also helping them to realise their potential within a variety of careers within the care industries."
