ICT students (Information & Communications Technology) at Harrow College have showcased their digital skills by creating a number of user guides to support those unfamiliar with popular digital applications.
With digital usage on the increase, particularly that of social media, the students were set the task of producing the user friendly digital guides as part of their Expo 2017 project. Working in small groups, the students spent the past few week planning, designing and finally presenting their guides.
Some of the user guides created and proudly presented by the students during the Expo included guides to creating a social media account, using Excel, staying safe online, using C++ computer code and fixing broken game console controllers.
Key digital functionality including the use of online menus, graphics, feedback forms and hyperlinks were used – much of which had been learnt by the students during earlier class time. The student teams were on hand to engage with guests and very professionally explain and demonstrate the process they undertook to produce their work.
The ICT Expo ended with a presentation where awards were presented to students who had particularly excelled. Sultan Soukani, Senior Curriculum Manager for ICT and Business said;
“The ICT Expo has been an excellent way for our students to demonstrate their skills and the quality of work was been very impressive”.
