Harrow College is pleased to announce a new partnership with Queens Park Rangers Football Club to provide first-class training for Sports students with a passion for football.
Delivered through the club’s charitable arm - Queens Parks Rangers (QPR) Community Trust, coaches from the Championship football team will offer coaching, sports education and mentoring to Harrow College Sports students.
This unique partnership will offer students enrolled onto the programme an enviable opportunity to excel in the sport. The full-time football and education programme includes studying a BTEC in Sports at Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3. Students train two days a week and have one match a week competing in the Under 19s FA National Youth League.
Football skills and knowledge will be developed through association with QPR’s Academy and under 18s team. The added bonus of playing and training in the QPR football kit also adds to this unique experience. Off the pitch, students have the opportunity to do some sports related work experience or discuss university and scholarship opportunities, while also being able to attend most of the QPR home matches.
Students interested in joining the programme must apply online and also attend a football trial. Details of the next trial will be announced in the coming weeks on the Harrow College website and social media channels.
Sue Wilson, Director of Curriculum and Community Engagement at Harrow College said;
