Harrow College is proud to announce that it has been re-certified by the Carbon Trust Standard for continued carbon reduction year on year.

Harrow College was one of the first general FE College to achieve the Carbon Trust Standard and in 2012 was shortlisted for a Times Educational Supplement FE award for Outstanding Practice in Sustainability.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, the college has achieved a 7.1% reduction in CO2 emissions since 2013 and gained an excellent carbon management score of 88% for 2016 - only 2% lower than the best organization in the sector.

The College is particularly pleased to have achieved a maximum 100% score in specific criteria including allocation of responsibility, carbon accounting, investment in energy saving and for engaging with students and the wider community.

Harrow College aims to continue its carbon footprint reduction. A key support to this vision will be an internal ‘Turn It Off’ campaign which encourages staff and students to turn off lights when leaving a room, reduce heating where possible, printing less and switching off computers and other appliances when not in use. Students will also be encouraged to value their environment by participating in events such as the Environment Week and Green Travel Days.
