Year 2 Architecture, Interior and Product Design students from Harrow College have proudly presented their design ideas ahead of the opening of the new Harrow Council Civic Centre in Wealdstone.

The students were invited to work with architects Gort Scott and Harrow Council’s regeneration department to explore how the new complex will represent and serve those who live and work in the borough.

The project focussed on 3 themes. Each theme had a different focus and students were able to personalise how they answered the set problems.

1 - Workspace: The students were given the option to design a multi-use, flexible work space that reflected the local area.
- Registry Office: As an alternative the students were given the option to design the interior of the council’s new registry office and Library.
3 - For the final option, students were asked to design a multi-use flexible interior for the civic centre’s new library.

Before the end of the project the students from Harrow College presented their ideas to the architects. The architects provided them with lots of helpful advice and helpful feedback.

The students work is currently on display in the Civic Centre for council staff to see how they approached the challenges of the new building. The projects will also be exhibited in the upcoming public consultation meetings in Wealdstone so the local community can see how the Harrow College students explored the forthcoming changes to the local area.
