Thank you to all staff and students for generously donating clothing, blankets, coats, food and toiletry items for the homeless and the local foodbank.

The idea for the collection came from Jasmine Abd-Allah, Student Council Rep and Level 2 Plumbing student, who in conjunction with her scout group, 1st Northolt, has helped to organise a massive Harrow/Greenford wide drive to collect donations for 4 homeless shelters and foodbanks.

Jasmine masterminded the collection at Harrow College, working with other students to promote the campaign. With support from the Harrow College Student Union and other Student Council Reps ten bags of donated items were collected and sorted. To support Jasmine’s initiative, our Harrow College Student Union raised over £100 by collecting money and giving out sweets in aid of local homeless projects.

Another enterprising student from our Access to Nursing course, ran a stall in the last week of term selling snacks, green tea and cakes, raising over £100 for the charity Water Aid.

Well done to Jasmine and members of the Student Council and Student Union Officers for making our Harrow College Christmas collections this year such a success.
