A brand new Media Edit Suite has been opened at Harrow College offering learners high quality equipment and facilities for their studies.
The Media Edit Suite is made up of seven workstations, each consisting of an Apple Mac Pro computer running Final Cut Pro and Adobe CS6 software – industry standard editing software.
Constructed this summer, careful consideration was given to designing the professional facility that meets the technical and creative needs of students. The interior décor uses vibrant colours creating a modern environment for students and helping to make it an enjoyable place to work.
The new facility will be used by A Level and BTEC students to produce music videos, adverts, documentaries, and for support with their motion graphics course work, as well as special one off projects for the college and external clients.
Commenting on the new facility Owen Price, Curriculum Manager for Media and Arts at Harrow College said;
"We believe this investment will contribute towards the high expectations we have of our students aiding in their aspirations to achieve high standards of work and quality productions. We also aim to provide industry standard environments for learners to work in to help with the transition into creative industries. In time we will be looking to hire out these spaces so other practitioners can benefit from our facilities, this in turn will help narrow the gap between industry and our college."
