Business students got a first-hand insight into the world of stocks and shares recently courtesy of a former student who has successfully forged a career in the investments market.
Arjun Bhogal, a former Law and Business Management student from Harrow College is now Director of the Institute of Broking. Arjun kindly accepted an invitation to visit his former stomping ground to inspire the next generation of students into how to be successful in the business world.
During the talk, which fittingly took place inside the Enterprise Centre at Harrow College, Arjun discussed how to start off a career within stockbroking. He explained some of the investment markets, highlighted some of the key terms and phrases used in this industry and where key information can be found and most importantly, the attitude needed to be a successful candidate.
With the stock market often being seen as quite a complicated industry to understand, the talk was designed to give students a better idea of stockbroking and the career path including exams and courses needed to progress.
Speaking after the talk, Arjun said “it was a pleasure to be invited back to Harrow College and I was made very welcome by the staff and pupils. I have many happy memories of my time as a student here. I look forward to returning again soon to meet more student passionate about business”.
