Construction students from Harrow College have been busy putting their new skills and knowledge into practice by supporting a local community group.

The Level 1 construction learners have been supporting the ‘Friends of Pinner Village Gardens’ group to improve their local park. Learners from the Skills Centre – one of Harrow College’s specialist construction campuses - have built park benches in their purpose built campus workshops which were then installed into the parks children's playground area.

Speaking about the project, Dean Lahaye, Curriculum Manager for Construction and Engineering at Harrow College said:

“Our students were really keen to get involved in this community project and have demonstrated great skill and professionalism to deliver these park benches which have received great feedback from local Pinner residents. The plan is that this will be an ongoing partnership with more benches being built and installed later in the year.
