Harrow College have hosted a special event called 'Caring Careers - What Next?’, aimed at helping current students and the unemployed to find work within the Health and Social Care industry. The packed event took place on 22nd March 2017 at the Enterprise Centre at the Harrow on the Hill campus.
The morning session was open for Harrow College students keen to pursue a career in the care sector. Several exhibitors from across the industry including NHS, Home Instead, Gentle Care and Concept Care Solutions were present to showcase a range of careers including home carer roles, medical jobs, nursing opportunities and many others.
Students had the opportunity to speak with professionals, learn more about different job roles and find out how they can pursue a career in the industry. Guest speakers were in attendance and live job vacancies as well as Care related Apprenticeships information was also on display.
The afternoon session was open to external visitors and those seeking employment within the health and care industry. This open session ensured students as well as the wider Harrow community had the opportunity to attend and learn more about a career in this sector.
Speaking during the event, Katy Bagnall, Apprenticeship Coordinator at Harrow College said: “The event has come together really well. This is a great opportunity for students and employers to build relationships and everyone is getting involved. We would definitely like to host more events like this, it’s great for the community.
