Harrow College is pleased to announce that they have passed all criteria and been fully approved by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) to deliver apprenticeships under the new apprenticeship levy.

This is quite an accolade for Harrow College as many organisations were not successful.

Taking effect from 6th April 2017 some employers will be required to contribute 0.5% of their pay bill to a new apprenticeship levy.

The levy applies to all employers in any sector, with a pay bill of more than £3million each year. The College is now in a position to work with SMEs and large employers to offer bespoke consultancy alongside business planning and full training programmes in many areas.

Virginia Fossard, Associate Director of Employer Services and Employability at Harrow College says: “This is an excellent opportunity for Harrow College to highlight their expertise in this area and support not only SME’s, but large employers locally from the very outset of the new levy tax.”

The College’s apprenticeship team are able to assist employers with upskilling of current staff and making the best use of levy funding as soon as the tax is collected in April 2017. Guidance with recruitment programmes in the mid to long term is also possible to help grow business success and reduce staff costs.

Employers are now being encouraged to contact Harrow College’s apprenticeship team for advice and support with understanding the levy and to discuss apprentice recruitment opportunities.
