Learners from Harrow College's S.E.N.D department (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) have delivered an Expo celebration event based on the theme of ‘A year of the Royals’. The Expo took place at Spring House - the Colleges specialist S.E.N.D facility.
Students came together to showcase their team working skills by collaborating in groups to produce interactive games for all to enjoy. Guests took part in fun activities including ‘name the royal’ (identifying members of the royal family based on Meghan and Harry’s wedding picture) and ‘pin the crown on the donkeys tail’.
Those with an interest in flowers had the chance to match seeds to flowers from the royal parks whilst others tested their knowledge about the royals at the quiz table. The Entry students created a display on sustainability and showed their booklets to visitors on the different projects that they have been working on. Guests and students also had the chance to sit on a throne and have their instant photo taken. A royal celebration wouldn’t be complete without a glass of bucks fizz and so guests were treated to royal mocktails and cakes as well as a sing and dance in a royal themed karaoke room.
The Expo was a great success and gave Learning Links and Entry students a chance to meet other students and staff from the college who all had a lovely time.
The Harrow College Expo celebrates student life at the college. The Expo gives students from each department an opportunity to provide an insight into what they do on their course and what their aspirations are for the year ahead.
