Hairdressing

During the course you will study; Health & Safety, promotion of additional products/services to clients, consultation, advanced cutting techniques, creative hairdressing skills, style and dress hair, colour and colour correction of hair and promotional activities. You may also study English and Maths alongside this qualification to help improve your employability opportunities.

  • Entry requirements

    NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing or equivalent qualification or 3 years' salon experience. A Profile Assessment test in maths and English to at least Level 1. A writing and practical test is also required.

  • Who is the course for?

    This course is designed for those who have achieved an NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing, and those who have 3 years or more experience in the industry who have not yet gained formal qualifications in hairdressing. Candidates must be training/working a hairdressing salon on a part time basis before applying for this course. Potential candidates need to be aware that excellent attendance and punctuality is essential and references will be required to demonstare the candidates experience and suitabilty in the Hairdressing field.

    You will be assessed throughout the course on both practical and theory; you will be assessed on assignments, tests, work packs, oral questions and written papers. You will build a portfolio of evidence that is internally and externally verified.

    Successful completion of this qualification will enable candidates to work within the industry, in salons and spas, progress to senior stylist or start their own business.
