The objective of the Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Certificate in Garden Design is to give learners knowledge and understanding and an introduction to the skills required in garden design to support progression to employment to an apprenticeship or to further study at a higher level.
Learners must complete the three mandatory units from the Mandatory Group (M), totaling 13 credits:
- Plant Knowledge
- Garden Design Project
- Drawing for Garden Design

Entry requirements
You should have an interest in the subject area you are applying for. There are no formal entry requirements but we will assess your level of English and maths to make sure you are working at Entry Level 3 or above. This is to ensure you are able to meet the course requirements.

The qualification will be timetabled 4 - 5 days a week, from 9.00 – 17.00.
Students will be expected to have A4 lined paper, pens and pencils and a ring binder.
