On this course you will learn: Health & safety training Scientific principles of plumbing Electrical principles and processes Hot & cold water systems Central heating systems Sanitation and drainage Communication within the building services engineering sector You will learn basic installation techniques of plumbing appliances.
Each learner will benefit from the support of a Personal Tutor.

  • Entry requirements

    You should have the desire to develop your plumbing skills and move on to employment in the building services engineering sector. GCSE's at grade C or equivalent in Math's & English are recommended. If you have equivalent qualifications or older qualifications that you are not sure about an interview would be required.

  • Who is the course for?

    This course is for people who want to work as plumbers in the plumbing engineering sector. It allows you to learn & develop the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the plumbing sector.

  • Study methods

    There is a 50/50 split between practical workshop sessions and classroom work, where you will be taught the underpinning knowledge to enable you to pass the online exams.

  • How is the course assessed?

    Assessment will be through a range of practical assignments and theory based on-line examinations. The course will be taught through a range of varied activities including classroom based theory sessions and skills workshops to develop the necessary installation experience.

    You should provide your own overalls and safety footwear for practical activities. A comprehensive text book is available from the awarding body at a cost of £25.
    Steel toe cap boots and overalls, lever arch A4 ring binder, lined A4 writing paper, pens, pencils, calculator, dividers for the A4 ring binder, memory stick.
