This diploma covers:
- Health and Safety
- Electrical Installation Theory and Technology
- Electrical Installation Methods
- Procedures and Requirements
- Electrical Installation Craft Skills
- Electrical Science and Principles.
Within the qualification the learner will have the opportunity to utilise the IET On-Site Guide and be introduced to how regulations (including BS 7671) affect electrical installation.
The qualification covers standard circuits as described in the On-Site Guide.

Entry requirements
4 x GCSEs grade 3 (grade D) or above preferably including both English, Maths and Science or a relevant Level 1 qualification and a minimum Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths.
You will have a college interview and references may also be taken. -
Who is the course for?
This course is for those who are intending to work in the electrical contracting industry or for those working in an associated industry i.e. film, TV, lighting, maintenance etc who require the underpinning knowledge to progress their careers.

The diploma will be assessed by the following methods: online multiple choice examinations, practical assignment and written paper.

As part of this course we have a range of guest speakers including Efixx, Megger and Aico. Site visits and trips to relevant exhibitions are also planned.
