Access to Higher Education

The Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma in Business is designed for adult learners who aspire to study business at the university level. This qualification is suitable for those who have been out of formal education for some time and need a pathway to higher education.

  • Entry requirements

    A relevant Level 2 qualification and a preference of GCSE 9-4 (grade C or above) in English and Maths, otherwise you will be required to sit a test in those subjects. Students without English & Maths GCSEs will also study one GCSE alongside this course.

    Your progress will be assessed through a combination of written assignments, presentations, external assessments, and projects. Each unit has specific assessment criteria that you must meet to pass.

    Types of Assessment

    • Written Assignments: Demonstrate your understanding of theoretical concepts and apply them to practical scenarios.
    • Presentations: Develop and present your ideas on business topics to improve your communication skills.
    • External assessment: Test your knowledge and understanding of key concepts.

      Grading system: Unclassified, Pass, Merit and Distinction.

    Duration: 1-year course with Math or English resit. Course starting in Mid-September
    Part time: Monday - Friday (3-4 days)
    Course Valid: only valid for 2 years before enrolling into university.
