Former Harrow College student Faye McClelland has narrowly missed out on a medal at the Rio Paralympic Games.

Representing Team GB in her first Olympic outing, Faye finished the women's PT4 triathlon race in a very respectable 4th place in last Sundays final which took place along Rio’s renowned Copacabana beach.

McClelland finished 37 seconds behind France's Gwladys Lemoussu, failing to join compatriot and silver medallist Lauren Steadman on the podium.

Speaking to the media after the race, Faye insisted that she is content with her performance, but admitted that it is disappointing to have finished in fourth place.

She said "I had a good swim, the bike I found really tough, it was just a matter of hanging on in the run. Gutted it was fourth, just outside of third, but that's how racing is. I was obviously wanting to medal, third would have been awesome. But I knew it was going to be tough and I did everything I could on the day."

Harrow College is extremely proud of Faye’s achievements and would like to congratulate her for representing Team GB and producing such a closely challenged effort in the final.
